Founder’s Day Treats: Celebrating with Iced Buns

This week, we had the pleasure of celebrating Surbiton High School Founders’ Day, a tradition that’s been going strong for 141 years.

Founders’ Day is a school event that commemorates the institution’s history and beginnings, dating back to 1884.

Every pupil and staff member enjoyed an iced finger, a tradition that predates the Second World War, when sugar rationing meant that buns were an easy sweet treat to make; and of course absolutely delicious.

Our fantastic team at Surbiton High School hand-rolled, baked, and iced over 2,200 buns in total and delivered them into classrooms.

It was such a wonderful tradition for our teams to be a part of!
