On this day in January 2002 Lexington was born! Founding Directors Mike Sunley, Katharine Lewis and Rachel Lindner set up Lexington to provide delicious food and drink to people at work with a real determination to “do things differently”.
10 years on Lexington has grown to a turnover of over £23m and close to 500 employees with an enviable client portfolio in London and The South East of England.
As an Investors In People Gold organisation, 3* Best Company and awarded 11th place in The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For in 2011 Lexington continues to be recognised as placing our people at the very heart of everything we do, a fundamental strategy of Lexington since day one.
To mark this special year Lexington will launch 10 very special “LexingTEN” initiatives and events to be introduced across the business during the year including the selection and announcement of our chosen charity, several food and client events and a number of CSR projects.
Commenting on Lexington’s first decade, Mike Sunley, Chief Executive says “It has been a fabulous 10 years for Lexington with many exciting and challenging times along the way yet we continue to go from strength to strength with steady and measured growth, adding some great clients to our portfolio over the years. Our food, people and service continue to set us apart from our competitors and our partnership approach has led to a number of significant and long term relationships with our clients. We are extremely fortunate to have some really great people within the Lexington team, many of whom have been with us since inception – including employee No. 1 Katharine Lewis! We are all looking forward to another exciting year in 2012, made all the more special by this significant milestone in Lexington’s history.”
