How To Promote Healthy Eating

Julia Edmonds, Managing Director at Lexington, featured in the March 2018 issue of B&I Catering Magazine. She spoke about Lexington Catering’s approach to health and wellbeing and discussed what we are doing to promote healthy eating.

Julia says, “Healthy eating is no longer an optional nice to have, it needs to be an essential part of every caterer’s food offer. Right from the very beginning we have worked hard to educate our team and customers that healthy food can, and should, be tasty. With numerous health-focused cafés exploding on the high street, healthy cookbooks trending, and food programmes on the television, customers demand this now.

“We are working hard to continually innovate, not just in terms of our recipes but also by tapping into the latest technology. We have teamed up with personalised food experts Vitamojo to develop a revolutionary digital platform that brings health and fitness together with food to totally change the customer experience.

“The new digital platform is aimed at giving our customers a totally personalised experience and to find choices that best meet their health goals. The system has the scope to allow customers to specify exactly how much protein, calories, carbohydrates and fat they require, giving customers complete control over what they eat.

“Recognising that not all of our sites have a kitchen open 24/7, we have also teamed up with Mother, a revolutionary healthy vending machine. We are working with them to provide customers with 24/7 access to healthy, fresh food, via totally bespoke vending machines.”
