HR Magazine: Engagement Needs A Simple Definition

Julia Edmonds, Managing Director at Lexington, spoke at an event, Engagement, Enablement, Empowerment: The Outcomes Breakfast Club, organised by employee engagement experts, Purple Cubed.

The panel of experts discussed:

– What ‘employee engagement’ means to business leaders

– Whether it’s working – or not – and why

– How people get it right – and how they fail

– What the bottom line benefits are

Julia said businesses cannot deliver great service without a great team, which is why employee engagement is so important. She says, “Companies should embrace a clear definition when it comes to employee engagement. We make sure our definition of employee engagement is very simple and easy for everyone to understand and relate to. We define it as ‘happy people at work’.”
