Jon Lilley, Development Chef at Lexington, is shortlisted for Craft Guild of Chefs Awards

Jon Lilley, Development Chef, at Lexington Catering has been shortlisted for the Development Chef Award by the Craft Guild of Chefs

Within this category the judges are looking for clear evidence of creativity when it comes to menu development, which Jon has certainly showed he has. Over the last twenty years Jon has led kitchens in some of the largest catering sites in London.

In his role as Development Chef here at Lexington, he has helped revolutionise the food offering. Everyday Jon strives to create new and inventive dishes, often changing the menus on sites to make sure that customers never get bored with the food. Concept to delivery Jon is incredibly innovative and strategic in this thinking. He is able to tap into his creativity to develop something that works for both clients and customers and the Lexington business.

Rob Kirby, Chef Director at Lexington, says, “Jon is a real foodie who understands food trends and drives innovation. He is excellent at what he does and has excelled in his role as Development Chef. He is an awesome creator in the development arena – his ability to bring new ideas from concept to delivery is outstanding, leading the way with new ideas and concepts. Jon also plays a key role with our young apprentices and the Lex school of talent in nurturing and teaching and mentoring.”

The Craft Guild of Chefs Awards take place on Monday 4 June, at Grosvenor House Hotel, London.
